Hi Neo
I do understand from your mums point of view why she might be concerned. I always think honesty is the best policy here and if she’s aware of you going to the gym try to speak with her as the likelihood is that she supports your training, so a conversation around food and why you would like to track your food I think is important and really beneficial here not just for yourself but for your mums own peace of mind.
Aside from this the team have given some good suggestions for you to try
Yes im gonna have to try to take the teams advice as my mother doesnt agree on my viewpoint sadly but i Will make it work

What do you mean she doesn’t let you track your food? Does she have access to your phone? Can you not use my fitness pal. She doesn’t let you use scales?
Surely you can Scan barcodes, or roughly estimate your food?
Well i had was talking about it with her about it and she thinks il get an ED but im trying to explain i wanna u know make it in the sport and it feels untruthful to secretly track it yk

You’d just have to eye ball it in this case. I guess with carbs fats it’s a little easier for example looking on the backs of packs it’ll say 1 packet of rice is X carbs or 1 bagel is X carbs dark choc 2 squares is roughly 20-25g
Protein wise is where it’s a little harder I would just eye ball and when it comes to being a surplus just increase the carbs and deficit decrease. You’ll be able to know if you’re in a surplus/ deficit or maintenance by tracking your bodyweight. It can be done.
Thanks alot for the advice!
