Sorry Megan when I said supplant use I meant drug use, should of stated it better. My gf is a wellness athlete and is curious about if you will or have been using anything yet and dosages ect, as the figure category is at such a high level now and must be hard to break into it naturally
Okay so “supps”, up until last year I was natural so was my first time taking anything then.
This year I have done 10 weeks on 10mg of anavar per day, this is my last week on and then I will come off until I start prep later in the year.
Personally I’d never want to take any more than I have. But I will keep an update on “supps” on here throughout my off season and prep ???? If someone is at the start of there bodybuilding journey it’s not necessary to jump straight on utilise everything first, as I’ve said before above I’ve been an athlete for a long time so felt the time was right, hope that helpsMeg Sylvester IFBBPRO

Agree with everyone, however if your not feeling the benefit ensure execution of exercise is perfect before completely writing off the exercise.

Thanks, Meg, I appreciate the answer.
Your role sounds interesting, how did you get into that if your background is in a field other than finance?
Also, I can imagine the work schedule in corporate finance being highly demanding? How do you manage balancing this with training / food prep / shopping etc?
Thank you!So the short answer is “I met a man on a plane” who offered me a job in the bank after talking to me on the flight as I said I wasn’t enjoying teaching anymore and then from starting in Branch I got a promotion into corporate 10 months later. I’m eager to learn so perhaps that’s how I was successful.
When I used to dive I used to juggle training full time 9-4 each day plus school/college/uni and volunteering in schools plus a part time job as I got older so I’ve always lead quite a busy life. I always have a diary, write myself a list of to dos for the day sometimes with timings on there and just get it done. Time management is important but learning to say no to things I literally don’t have time for has taken me some time, so I have had to learn to prioritiseMeg Sylvester IFBBPRO

So Kuba has changed my split a little to get a little more volume on my legs and back, I’ve been doing the same split since finishing my show in October so will be nice to switch things up and see how my body reacts. New split is:
Push
Quads Glute focus
Rest
Pull
Hamstring Glute focus
Rest
Back/ham/Glute

Hey meg I’m so exited to have you on here I work a full time job as well in retail and juggle body building like yourself nice to have someone on here so relatable. Lovely choice of post work out there ???? out of interest why do you run a zero carb day on rest days in off season ? Everyone has different opinions so interesting to hear yours , your smashing it by the way x
Thank you, retail can be so full on I did a stint last year before moving to corporate & didn’t finish until 7 some evenings so be good to show how I balanced it all.
I was struggling with my appetite so went with fats over carbs on rest days to keep cals high but easier to stomach, but like you say might not suit everyone xx
One thing about retail though it’s great for getting your steps in when your dieting ????
Haha yes!

Super cool to have your log on here now, Meg.
Not related to bodybuilding so I’m sorry, but would you mind talking a bit about what you do specifically in corporate finance? It’s an area I’m really interested in entering after I graduate.
Thank you!Hi Mitch,
More than happy to answer anything. I work in Barclays Corporate as a specialist support manager, I’m a face to face contact for clients and help with preventing and helping with cyber fraud attacks & also help customers become digitally savvy with the online channels specifically with credit management. I’m taking my banking (credit) exams in a few weeks as I don’t come from a finance background. I find it so interesting though so much to learn which is exciting. If you have any more questions just ask ????Meg Sylvester IFBBPRO

Personally I like to do different variations of DL on my pull days…I feel them in different parts of my glute/ham. So I have 3 rotations, pull sessions stay the same bar the DL. I mix it up with DB RDL, BB RDL & Sumos (I like to add a band around my hip on the RDLs for extra tension at the top). I’ve seen more progress in each one since doing it this way.
Keeps training feeling fresh for me too.Meg Sylvester IFBBPRO

Just a little update from check in this week. Happy with progress so far this offseason, weight has stabilised around 60kg for the last 5 weeks even with pushing food still. Very excited to see what has been built once we strip back.
Today is a rest day so I’m food shopping for myself & Kuba plus we will be cooking together. I’ll be doing a little gardening too as we need to get it ready for when the little dog arrives…yes we have bought our first little fur baby. I’m away on a training course for work the first part of this week so need to make sure I’m fully ready to go.
Hope you all have a lovely day!Meg Sylvester IFBBPRO

If your goal is aesthetically driven then focus shouldn’t purely be on strength/weight being moved (even though it feels good to shift some heavy weights)
Adding to Matt… focus on improving what you do, progressing even if it’s just by a rep but don’t loose form just for a big lift.Meg Sylvester IFBBPRO

Hi guys I’m Megan, currently in my offseason transitioning from bikini into figure.
I have a full time job in Corporate Finance prior to this I was a PE Teacher at Secondary/Sixth Form level, so I will share with you how I juggle life to do well in both my profession and bodybuilding.
Prior to bodybuilding I was a GB diver competing at the Senior & Youth Europeans, Worlds and Olympics. I was the first GB female in 52 years to win the European Championships. Also, I was a dancer specialising in Ballet where I became English National Champion & got the chance to dance on the West End. I’ve only competed in 9 bodybuilding shows so even as a newbie in bodybuilding I still have a wealth of knowledge & the mindset of an athlete having competed at a high level from the age of 9.
We have started regimented offseason right after my last show in Spain where I won my pro card this and competed in my first pro show where I placed 9th out of 24 beautiful girls.
Current training split is
Push
Pull/hams/glutes
Rest
Legs/glutes
Rest
Repeat
Current diet is below
