imo wished I had gotten into olympic lifting at a really young age. – this builds such a good foundation if you can find a good coach. And builts a base that is much more solid than bodybuilding/powerlfiting – which are essentially a disjointed set of bodyparts that occasionally have to work together in an ugly fashion.

Plus if she ever wants to move over to bodybuilding/powerlifitng/crossfit ect, olympic lifting is an excellent platfrom to go from

So in theory, let’s say I need 3500 cals to put me in a surplus. I could get away with consuming 100g Carb pre and post workout and get the rest of my cals from protein (not including fats at this point) and that would be more beneficial than eating ‘moderate’ protein and more carbs?

I actually think you could lose weight or at very least maintain/ recomp – from the studies ive seen and also own anecdotal evidence, 4/cal per gram of protein doesnt contribute wholly to your energy balance like carbs or fat do. – like yeah, under lab conditions calories is the amount of energy required to heat 1 kilogram of water by 1 degree Celsius – but in the body protein doesnt work like that.

So its best to keep protein high and consistent from the beginning, and instead only just manipuate fats and cabs right the way through

Definitely think I had covid last week or so, – felt quite unusually run down, and sinuses clogged and playing up. – orignally thought it was changing brand of telmisartan to a pharmacy one over here, as the side effects were what I was experiencing – but quite a few people have had the same symptoms – alongside a really tender lower back, supposedly another side effect of covid? – Thought it was strange how sore my back was still feeling after SLDL the other week.

Provided you dont have some sort of kidney issue – im very much in the cohort that you should really be pushing protein potentially as high as that to maximise gains. – ive seen nothing but improvment in myself and everyone ive recommended it to. We also know from studies increasing protein intake, that we dont see an increase in fat accumulation either, even eating at a 1000 calorie surplus and above in that macronutrient. The way the body processes protein isnt like most people assume

So depends on which beta blocker as there are many and some are selective to B1 B2 b3, – clen effect is primarily b2.

    Noradrenaline/norepinephrine only effects beta 1 I believe

These seem like the lingering long term effects of covid and you body still recovering from it, rather than just a simple case of over training and needing a Deload because of that. – I’d still run a devolume phase over the next 7-10 days potentially, and make it a priority to get all your recovery tools in check, diet, sleep ect ect. Then gradually increase volume over the coming weeks as your body gets back to full form. By devolume by the way I mean – Reduce number of back off sets and intensifiers, and prioritise top sets, so overall sets per session is reduced

Rest day today, – usually on my rest days I like to use the pool, I find it’s a very easy way to expend calories without even really feeling like it’s work – plus it helps with my mobility. – this is something I’ll be using a lot I think when I next prep. – maybe some HIIT training doing lengths or something.

when we train, we always try to maintain full range of motion using a maximal amount of weight that still ensures form is not compromised. – getting full range of motion is something that gets harder and harder to achieve as we go through the session, as getting a muscle fully contracted when its fatigued becomes more difficult.

Therefore we place exercises with resistance profiles that are harder for you to complete the movement when the muscle is contracted near the start of a session. Because if we did them later on, you wouldnt be able to do full range of motion without drastically reducing the load to compensate

Still suffering with the strain in lower back, it’s most definitely getting better though! – took my time today training pull, avoiding any lower back work, and using chest support wherever possible. Couple more days and I should be back in business
