little niggles piss me off so much !!…

Meadows once said to me that a big part of doing very very well in this sport (I’m talking top 10 Olympia) is being able to:

    1) stay injury free even when beating yourself up week in week out
    2) be able to be on the amount of drugs these guys are on with minimal negative side effects

I see some guys train day in day out like morons and never get any injuries.

IFBB pro chris tuttle speaks often about how he is not lucky in this way & if he is not very careful, he will get injured regularly (and has had numerous injuries).

Some of these musclemania natural pros (not just them obviously) seem to do some of the dumbest stuff in training.

“minimal fluff” … I like that!!

Its sad that a lot of pros and amateurs nowadays post videos of themselves doing fluffy shit all over instagram & hashtag it as “beastmode”…

Can you imagine Dorian or Levrone doing this type of thing back in the day!? ( yes i know instagram wasn’t around then)

When I first started training I would get super hyped up for almost every set… and after training i would feel exhausted , but at the time what I didn’t realize was that the exhaustion was simply a overly worked CNS .. not muscular exhaustion.

I can definitely relate to that Corinne! Lou Ferrigno used to scream arnolds name whilst training … unless that was just for the camera.

yep that’s very very true JOrdan…. I will only use headphones for a handful of exercises . I would not be getting hyped up before using the pec deck for example.

hahahaha if someone was shouting that at me I think I would crack up as well

I agree with what Donnie said if someone is prepping for a PL meet , 100%.

He set up his own member site apparently … I’m glad he’s off the forums anyway.

Maybe Bostin Lloyd is GH15’s son … they are both as moronic as each other.

Pavlovs dogs.. you are taking me back to AS psychology now Jordan haha

Definitely makes a lot of sense though… Their are certain things that i can think of prior to a big set & I know if my head is really focused…I’ll know I’m hitting a pb before even doing my first rep.

I remember Dorian saying he would think of someone putting a gun to a family members head… if you can really get that in your head, your just are going to get the reps. I’m not saying everyone needs to go to this place in their head … obviously Dorian was very very intense.

I remember watching this when it first came out & really motivated me.

The first couple minutes specifically… Evan gives his opinion on those who say “just take a bunch of drugs” … like GH15 always goes on about (or did go on about, I haven’t seen him on the boards for a while on the boards

yep that makes a lot of sense. The Chinese Oly lifters are always super calm, even when squatting 4 x body weight.

With some time without any music, I’m sure I would be fine.

Ellie goulding and Haim ?! haha I would have never guessed that. I can hear a shout for Enya though, “only time” is a classic 🙂

The leg pump I get from Bike HIIT is like nothing else.

True HIIT cardio is one of the hardest things I’ve done, (and am not looking forward to it tomorrow) closely followed by 220kg deads x 15 reps

I would like to say its been awesome following along on here with your prep Jordan…
the updates were very regular throughout the process and each post gave a great insight into your prep

It sucks that you did not make the top 6, but with that said, in one of the recent training vids , you said that every time you step on stage your goal is to be the thickest guy on that stage… you CERTAINLY achieved that goal!!!

To me though, the most impressive thing is how gracious you are in not making top 6 (would be unfair saying “gracious in defeat” because your physique has improved vastly in one year) … and how positive your posts are.

I see so many competitors (weirdly often it is the US guys) straight away take to social media writing essays about how the judges are idiots and often blaming others for the reason they weren’t “on” … Matt Porter recently got blasted on FB by some whining idiot (yep… a US guy) saying that missing his peak was “all Matt’s fault” etc etc

…so it is very refreshing to see how you look at this as time to step it up even more and just carry on working away.

I look forward to the upcoming year to see how freaky you can get 🙂
