Milos protocols are certainly very interesting 🙂

I remember hearing that he once turned up for a pro show & at the AM weigh ins , he looked small and not at all ready to hit the stage

but he then went away to his hotel room for hours and worked his magic. By the time the evening show came around, he looked amazing and won the show

in the offseason/growing phase … a mix of the two is nice (eg macros for the post workout carbs) but when trying to prepping/lose bodyfat… definitely specific foods

had this issue as well myself. Tesco .. the bigger stores typically have the normal plain ones though .., could only find Snack a Jacks in asda

otherwise they have the “free from” section where you might find some … probably double the price though

    looking forward to this !!!!!

Fat is super low in comparison to the other two macros … has Milos suggested this?

legs are defo up from pics.. do you attribute this to any specific lift(s) more than others? or was it simply progressing lifts & training them at a high frequency?

Maxx Charles also has some very strange ideas in regards to training

With that said, it is clearly doing him no harm…

Recently, a big trend I’m seeing is people using machines for exercises they are not built for…

eg.. tricep pushdown using one of those assisted chin up machines

I can understand this if your gym has poor equipment (and therefore you have no alternative).. or if the exercise can genuinely puts the muscle through a range of motion that cannot be achieved otherwise (meadows row on a t bar machine for example is very good) but it seems a lot of people are doing this for no good reason? likes on social media maybe?

I’ve seen numerous people at my gym doing forms of rows with our leg press?! … I wish I was joking

I have also recently witnessed someone lying on the floor…. unrack the T bar, hold the end of the bar with both hands and do some sort of hex press with it.

I’m getting off the topic now though haha 🙂

Doesn’t Rich “synthol” Piana have some sort of arm training concept where you train arms all day long & eat between sets.

or something moronic like that anyway…

As i said, I only read it through once & wouldn’t argue for the points made. Like yourself, I would much rather squat or dead than do push ups and I do so. With that said, T nation does generally have very good writers (John Meadows, Shelby Starnes, Dave Tate etc) and so I doubt they would publish something if it is complete bull’

In regards to emg results… it seems recently a lot of people are taking these results as fact and that nothing else could possibly work…..which is f’ing stupid and drives me nuts. This can then cause these 11 stone youtubers (with 2 years of training experience and a 100kg 1rm on deads) to become arrogant and say things like “oh i don’t need to do deads from the floor because this emg study showed…”.

Frequent Heavy squats and deads (set up properly in a split) can not be beaten in my opinion… even if people argue and say that heavy deads from the floor don’t build a whole lot of muscle … the beneficial carryover into literally every other exercise in the gym is huge. It would be very rare to find someone with shitty spinal erector development if they have a strong dead/squat. Justin Compton has wicked spinal erectors and he has expressed in recent interviews that although he doesn’t do them much anymore, he does highly rate heavy deads. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gEKSTyJcJzY )

In my current training set up , I train abs at the end of every other session and I’ve seen no negative effect on my dead or squat.HOWEVER… if I have a sore lower back … my squats will generally look/feel utterly shit.

One thing that some of my friends who compete in power-lifting have expressed to me in regards to using a belt .. is that it can allow you to hit the big 2 a lot more frequently, this is an example of where I feel the belt does have a place… but again I do not like seeing people get overly reliant on them. There’s a guy at my gym who uses knee wraps and a belt for leg extenions … to me this is just plain stupid.

I tried wearing a belt once and f’ing hated it.
sine then… I’ve pulled 280 x 4 beltless and squatted 220 x 4 beltless without ever being worried about my lower back or feeling any pain.

I certainly do understand that they have a place (in PL and strongman especially) , just not for me.

I do think people become too reliant on them though… and start putting them on as soon as they get over 50%.

In terms of a strong core… my primary goal when performing heavy compounds is not core development tbh … A recent article on T nation actually explained that compounds … even very heavy squatting and dead lifting don’t really do that much for core development & that even a body-weight push up is far superior if core development is the main goal.

To be honest , I did not read the article more than once so I wouldn’t feel confident in arguing for or against those points. With that said, generally the stuff on T Nation is very good and often is accurate.

wrist wraps seem like a good idea to me IF having wrist pain… I did wear them for a couple years … The only detriment I can think of, is restriction of blood flow.. my forearms used to go numb and as soon as i finished the set.. I would want get those things off as fast as possible lol

My gym has a live DJ every Friday night … Unfortunately the DJ is awful !!!! In my opinion anyway lol

He seems to only play house … All of which sounds pretty similar to me
