I really can relate to that. I´m a full time PT, online coach and self-employed which could be physically and mentally very exhausting especially if you are an athlete who wants to be successfull BUT there are great options which will def help !
choose wisely with who you are working – if someone doesn´t make the effort which I expect and which is necessary I simple cut them off. Sounds harsh but this is necessary to save your own energy!
make strikt time slots for your clients – this will give you enough time to relax for some minutes, get your meals in and less stress, also when I´m competing I really decrease my PTs to a minimum always depenting on how I feel.
If possible your training comes first – I tried training between client appointments, training after work but IMO it´s def easier to train before work, especially when it´s a long day and you know there will be a lot of steps to do 😉 OR simple and maybe the best option when there´s lot of work to do… take a rest day!
To coach/train people also means to be a therapist .. of course we are not but often it feels like that, however it´s good that you´re truly care about your clients BUT if you want to become better you have to turn that off when it comes to your training, I had a very hard time at the beginning of my career to switch from being there for everyone and also being there for MYSELF, maybe switch to another gym when you train 🙂follow me on Instagram: lara_tasharofi_ifbbpro

Hi Michael great to have you here, how does your current training split look ? I´m a little bit confused about the volume of your outlined training, what does 190×5 means ? 190lbs for 5 reps ? how many sets are you doing ?

Hi Douglas not a silly question at all, yes you´re right scapula pull ups are “small” movement which are mostly done for lat activation this video is pretty good there are also different versions of the scap pulls as example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nAQl6R8J_qg

MemberNovember 30, 2020 at 11:54 am in reply to: what to do when motivation is low ?Hi Asrar, you def don´t break any rules by posting your thoughts and worries ..quite contrary it´s very good to do that !!
ALWAYS try to focus on the good and on the things you CAN change. .. you can´t change the fact that the gyms are closed BUT they will reopen again! focus on getting the best out of your homeworkouts, keep a certain routine in your daily life (cardio, steps, meal prep), use the extra time to educate yourself or learn something new and of course surround yourself with people who are supportive and positive 🙂follow me on Instagram: lara_tasharofi_ifbbpro

I´m totally understanding this, I´m coming also from a family background where eating together is traditional and important. I had a lot of conversations with my family and I tried to explain them why I´m doing this and how important that is to me..during my first prep they thought I have a eating disorder because well I was pretty skinny after my first prep however TRY to explain them what this means to you and how important it is to eat like that if you want to reach your GOALS.. also make sure to still be able to eat together from time to time, you only will eat different food but still be able to sit together and enjoy it 🙂

I think every athlete handles this topic different, some are very strict and others will have a drink from time to time. personally I don´t like the taste of alcohol and for me there is no benefit in drinking at all so I´m one of those very strict people 😉
