Ambitious deadlift session for me today. After pulling 220kg for 8 with Larry on Monday i wanted to go for an AMRAP on 225kg. I wanted 7 but would have been happy with 5 depending on how i was feeling strength wise. Warm ups felt great and although 215kg moved a little slower than i liked 225kg x 7 happened and i was pretty chuffed with that!

Back down to 210kg x 7 which moved pretty well too and then some 3 x3 at 200kg bare handed to finish off!

Another weight drop again this morning, super happy with how everything stands right now and looking forward to the next coming weeks 🙂

Very relaxed over here regarding PED’s – it’s mainly recreational party drugs that they are really strict on. Regarding clinics / there are plenty of private clinics you can go two, – cost is more expensive than typical as they expect you to go through insurance provider – so if you’re paying out of pocket it is higher.

Smith machine will allow you to take out a lot of the issues people have with counterbalance and centre of mass, as your in a fixed plane and can brace against the bar to alleviate any force making you off balance.

You should be able to squat with potentially a narrower stance and with torso much more upright. – for maximal quad emphasis.

14 weeks out today – such a weird feeling counting down the days to a meet and not a show. Everything i have lived and known has changed this meet prep. It used to be ‘its not the scale weight its how you look’ to its the scale weight not how you look ?

in all fairness we have have been on plan and in a deficit for 7 weeks now and i have to say its been the most enjoyable start to a prep i have ever done. Not to mention cardio being high and calories being low (not as low as last year but getting there). My energy is doing great, the main difference to all of this is maintaining the ability to lift as much weight as possible at a weight that is close to my stage weight. It’s a challenge but i am loving it.

Accessory day for me today, nothing too exciting and followed with 40 minutes of stairs which was hard after a heavy leg day yesterday. We got it done though and tomorrow we are on deadlifts.

    Hi Harrison,

Firstly, hope you are feeling better not a nice thing to have that’s for sure! You will have lost some water weight from the lack of food so not too much to worry about on that front however you do want to focus on getting yourself back to full functionality in the gym so i would suggest eating at maintenance or slightly above for a few days to aid with recovery.

A nice squat session and an even nicer weight drop today. Nearly in the 78s which is exciting, my body has been so so stubborn, body composition has changed massively but weight stayed very much the same. It is now on the decline and i hope we have started the ball rolling to a steady decline now.

Squats were great! went up to 200kg for a single today, moved will but an iffy judge would call depth from the angle i filmed. It was still much better than any other 200 squat ive done but not quite where we want it particularly giving the fact that that wont be a max squat. My 190kg looked awesome though and followed on with 4 x 3 at 170kg.

accessory day for me tomorrow, i’m going to hit some glutes, grip, hamstrings and abs as well as cardio .

So getting an adequate pump has as much to do about nutrition as it does exercise selection. Firstly for those that really struggle with this you need to be ultra picky about which exercise to prioritise in your sessions – which ones fit your body well biomechanically and cause no undue stress on your joints

For some this might limit your equipment availability – but that’s fine. Simply base a lot of your workout around that exercise that you really connect with. Instead of 2/3 sets do 5/6/7 sets – as that’s better than sharing the volume between an exercise that doesn’t feel good at all.

With nutrition, make sure electrolytes are in check, potassium, sodium etc, as these all contribute to a pump

I highly recommend the TBJP supps range they are great in this.

Rest day for me today! I am hitting a leg session tomorrow so just cardio today.

Weight is on the decline. I have a check in with Calum tomorrow which I’m sure will result in some more changes but excited to see what’s next.

Out for a Diet Coke with some friends this evening. I’ve never been so social in my life ? but it’s really great to be surrounded by like minded people, half of us prepping and the other half understanding that so it’s not difficult at all.

Will upload tomorrows check in photos too!

Very happy with todays bench session. My shoulder/bicep has been playing up the last week not so bad to make a fuss about it but it didn’t like benching and was kicking off at 40kg which isn’t great. I know what caused it, i went swimming and it did not appreciate that. It was not 100% today but was good enough to get the majority of work in before calling short on a few reps.

I benched a really nice 110kg/115kg/120kg and it moved really smoothly. i definitely think 130kg is there which is mind blowing considering my PB is 145kg . So to be 15kg off my all time best after being injured for over 3 months with minimal training is just bizarre.

Peptides have arrived now so will my mega doses those for the next few weeks and then running them throughout the rest of my meet prep at a maintenance level for precaution .

Accutane is such a powerful drug that unless you have crazy severe acne a little goes a long long way. – minuturisation of the sebaceous glands can be done on small dosage of 10mg or so a day – over a longer period of time. – and at that dosage the side effects that come with it are barely noticeable

Rest day for me today, headed to the gym to do some grip work as i didn’t fit it into yesterdays session as i trained deadlifts at one gym and then went to another to do cardio.

Grip training was overhand shrugs which i am improving on slowly but surely. worked up to 110kg for some working sets of 5. I think i have said before but shrugs are great for grip work and especially the carry over to deadlifts as the whip and rolling from each shrug mimics the movement of the bar during a single deadlift. Obviously doing it double overhand makes it much harder too but they are are a great choice for grip work.

40 mins of cardio done too , which is my standard for a non training day / accessory day now.

Cal was happy with my check ins yesterday and no changes have been made to cardio or diet as of yet as we want to give this phase a little longer visually my physique is becoming noticeably tighter and leaner but my weight is still being very stubborn.

The only way that I’ve seen people try to Mask this, is by site enhancement oils such as synthol, mediphorm etc

Deadlifts today with Larry at strong HQ which is an awesome strength specialist gym here in Dubai.

Was a little bit worried after training squats yesterday, i don’t usually train them after one another but lower back wasn’t sore only my legs and we don’t need those for a deadlift ?

Luckily Larry is at the start of training for a strong man competition in August so he had stripped the weight right back and i ended up repping more than him today. My top set was 220kg x 8 and then did 2 back off sets of 205kg x 5 and then a last set of 185kg x 5.

We did some deadlift assistance work after than and then i headed over to B1 for my cardio. It took up the best part of the day but its always great to film for Larry’s channel and i’m sure the video will be up on there soon if you want to catch it 🙂

a well deserved rest day for me tomorrow, 40 mins of cardio and some ab and grip work.

Quite often with digestive issues, when you remove the problem the issue can persist for a little while it takes time for the body to get back into full swing, – so with the adjustments you’ve made, see if they are improving over the next 10 days. Apart from that you’ll have to eliminate more food, but from my experience I can see that eggs/egg whites are a trigger food so that could be another issue.

Awesome squat session today! i was due one after a bad session last week and then forgetting my knee sleeves and squat shoes yesterday ? Todays working sets:

    170kg x 6reps

    170kg 3 x 3

    150kg x 8 reps

Followed by some other quad work including gymleco leg press and some work out abductor and calves.

Tomorrow i have another check in with Calum to assess how this new diet/ cardio split that we implemented last week and i also have a deadlift/back session. Looking forward to it as i’m training with Larry so will be a good session for sure!
