Rest day for me today so not much to log about. I have started rowing again and plan to hit a new PB on the 5000m row in a few months time. It feels good to be back doing it again and I love doing it for cardio.
-
Didn’t have a great night sleep last night so I slept a little longer than planned today. Started my morning off with 20 mins of fasted cardio on the rower which didn’t feel great so I think for this next week I will eat my first meal first and then do cardio after. The rower is quite taxing and as I’m not using any assistance right now it doesn’t need to be fasted.
Headed to the gym around 1pm and trained legs. My adductors were pretty tight from doing split squats on my glutes day yesterday so was careful about not over working then today.
I tried the new hack squat they have at binous but it’s not great. It bottoms out before I hit parallel and the bottom pad doesn’t adjust. It did the job and it’s one of the better options there for hack squat but I still won’t be implementing it into my quad workout any time soon.

Glute day today back at binous and was nice to be using good machines again. Todays session was:
Abductor
Split squats
Hip thrusts
Glute kick backs
Seated hamstring curl
Single leg hamstring curl
Was a good session but did feel quite week so I’m looking forward training regularly again and gaining my strength back.

It’s quite a shallow range of motion and people have moved on to better alternatives

I had a good sleep last night after getting in at 2am. Today I started back on my diet and hit a few errands as well as travelling to the dungeon gym to train legs round 6pm. It was so nice to get back into training. My leg workout was quad focused mainly:
Leg extentions
Adductor
Squats
Hack squats
Split squats.

Excellent for exams, just remember to not use it consistently for endless days at a time as your tolerance does build up
And also be aware it does increase urination a lot in some people so bear that in mind when going into your examination

Nothing to really report today – last night me and my friend went to see Reinier, who’s a famous techno artist and he was playing at a museum in Amsterdam. We extended our stay by one day and I am so glad we did. It was an incredible night and totally worth being shattered today. We got back for 5am and my flight was at 2pm so only had a few hours sleep. I’m now on the plane heading back to dubai and I’m so excited to see my dog .. and Max haha. Back on track tomorrow with meals prepped and training 2 hours a day with cardio at 30 mins daily.

Last day in Amsterdam today, one of my friends left this morning and me and another friend planned to extend our stay by one night so we could go and see one of our favourite Techno artists perform this evening. I managed to get to the gym this morning too for a 1.5 hour leg and glute session. Hitting some 100kg squats for reps and some machine work. I am very much looking forward to getting back to Dubai though and getting back into a decent routine.

Another full day today – I didn’t get to train but we did walk over 20k steps and had a great second to last day. We went out for food this evening at a place called Momo’s in Amsterdam and it was the best food I’ve had. It was a set taste menu and was incredible. Included wagu, sea bass, duck, salmon , tuna all the good stuff and some incredible flavours too.

Headed out last night on a boat party which was great fun. We stayed up till 3/4am but also had a busy day today so was up at 9 to get on with that. I headed to the gym for 10am and got an hour and a half session In which was a bit rushed but made pick up on my test timed and actually was quite good.
I hit glutes and hamstrings today, there’s not much In terms of glutes machines but I made use of the smith machine and the cables for cable kick backs. Also smashed out 3 hamstring machines too.
I’m really looking forward to getting back to dubai now though and being able to train in a good gym again.

Increase the angle that the feet are pointed out, and make a conscious effort to track your knees
You’ll need to lower the weight initially, but doing tempo squats with a conscious effort to ensure knees don’t cave will go a long way
Likely you’re just going through the movement on squat at the moment, with no real thought of how you’re squatting as you’re squatting

Day of working and sight seeing today. I didn’t get a chance to train but I’m not too fussed as I’m heading to the gym tomorrow afternoon before we go to a boat party. I’m going to hit a mixture of legs and glutes again as I properly will then train on Wednesday before heading back to dubai.

Tried out a different gym today – was a good one but had some weird variations of weights. The bars were 30kg and the plates were 45kg (not lbs) which is the first time I’ve seen that.
I had a great glute/quad workout though, even though we only had 1.5 hours to train due to reservations. Will have to find another gym for tomorrow as this one closes at midday on the weekends

First full day in Amsterdam today – we did a lot and we also got a 1h30 gym session in here at a gym 10 minutes walk from us. It’s a very simple gym but has all the basic equipment needed for a standard session. I had to alter some of my workout to fit it but I’m not mad about that. I was still able to squat, leg press? Leg extension, adductor, hamstring curl and dumbbell RDL.
Tomorrow morning we will be hitting the gym again for another session before we go out for the fay and tour Amsterdam.

Busy day today – I packed up as I decided to head to Birmingham a night before my flight. I caught a morning leg session which was pretty refreshing. I don’t usually train around 10/11am but today I did and it was a nice change.
I hit quads and hamstrings and focused more on volume and pump today.
Tomorrow I fly to Amsterdam for a week and found a really decent gym to train at which is only 10 minute walk from the where we’re staying so hoping to get 3/4 sessions in there.
