Matt, its a tricky one for me tbh, as i shouldnt be advocating drug use in anyway, as its not healthy, BUT i know people will do it regardless, so my mindset is i would rather shed some light on what is sensible and what is silly, and how to look after health, i cant ever stress enough less is more, people must think ah they just say that, and take masses, but on the whole its not true, a good bodybuilder is often just very responsive to the smallest of things. Peter Hill is going to start writing about it and doing articles, Hilly is so very experienced and ANYTHING i do, i run by him. so in the next couple days his log will kickstart with more info on specifics 🙂

i just refreshed myself of building the perfect beast last night by author l rea, honestly i think him, duchaine, borreson where all complete nut jobs. i read through and think what is this dog shit, dont get me wrong they are incredibly smart guys, but it convolutes the mind of aspiring bodybuilders that read it
i have said this before, drugs play a part in bodybuilding, we all know, thats fact. but u have to work hard, ur mindset has to be to work harder in the gym, work harder on nutrition and supplementation, then and only then will u reap the gains from what ur using.
the best advise i give my clients on this is exhaust each phase as you can, if ur growing on 500mg/week AAS , why the hell do u want to do 750 or 1000, you dont grow quicker, as you can only build muscle so fast. the dream goal is to build max muscle off the least amount of bits. if you have the mindset of i NEED more drugs to build a good physique, ur mind set is wrong! … you may need more drugs to make the nfl , or break the 10 second 100m time, or be worlds strongest man BUT those arent your goals, u just want a nice physique, so stop making idiot choices and WORK harder 🙂

Hey guys n girls, another day down and all is going well
Training today was hard, but we hit the numbers we needed to in log books. I’m v much hoping we have a good 3-4 weeks left of lift progressions before needing to pull off for safety, once that moment comes I prefer to pre fatigue way harder , and use intensifiers way more. So first sets of the whole session will be triple drop sets, just to change the stimulus of the exercise dramatically. But largely for now what built it, will keep it … So we won’t pull off the basic compound moves 🙂

Boris, you need to pinpoint what exercise was causing the flare up mainly and avoid this. I found using band work initially better as this deloads on the eccentric portion, which does help spare tendons.
You ask before about the ointment, that’s kwang loong which is a saviour when comes to tendon health, I use it on my forearms/ elbow tendons
You need to make sure you have rested the tendon to the extent that all inflammation is gone – 250mg x 2 per day of curcummin will aid this, take these on an empty stomach for best effects

nick, in offseason i dont use intensifiers much at all, i like heavy straight sets, working diff rep ranges, basics done v well. this offseason will likley be diff as i intent to stay much fitter , my fitness has been a real limting factor, now at 246-250 i feel SO good, i train fast and recovery is amazing, at 270 i am a mess. so i will push intensifiers differently- thats me personally, if your fitness is good, dont waste energy for the sake of it

248 this morn, couple pounds down on sat- 11 pounds over last years stage weiht, ( end of depletion i was 232, carbe dup and am of show i was 237) , i imagine il be looking to get down to about 230 this time, as i have added a good few pounds of muscle, and end up 235 or so in shape onstage, so will be looking like 17 or so pounds in 7 weeks, shouldnt be much issue 🙂

connor we relax on hol, and enjoy ourselves, when my food is high i dont crave much of anything really, so that isnt ever an issue for me in hol, but if i fancy something il eat it

So a little more insight into us and what’s happening 🙂
since sat I’m not sure what’s happened metabolically but I cannot stop sweating, body is burning through things fast now, this makes me real happy.
I’m not sure at all what has happened to Corinne, sat she weighed in at 144 pounds for her PL meet, sun 143 pounds this morn 140 pounds! This morn she looked absolutely totally stage ready. I maybe the one that calls the shots diet and training wise, but she is the one that sets the pace when it comes to intensity and focus and pure desire to succeed.
After losing the world powerlifting in Prague last year I can see how bad she wants it, she came off the platform last year and cried and all she could say was sorry for letting me down, after getting second at the nabba Brits this year she said the same thing- when we went on holiday we agreed to push even harder then ever before once we got back, and no matter what we wouldn’t take our foot off the gas, this is where deciding to train twice a day from 15 weeks out came to mind, as it was the only way we could think to push harder then anyone else can. In her second sprint session today I can see she was hurting , asked if she was tired … ” nope” , she is now at the pool finishing off her third session of the day as it’s easier on joints. People say it a lot, but who you have around you makes a big difference, right now I have never been so motivated and that’s because of her, If you truly want something, you can get it, everything you do with your physique is held back by your mind, you have to believe in what your doing and have to push beyond what

nick, i like the bike as its solely concentric motions, so no breaking involved like a sprint on track, which can be riskier for someone my size. i will likely do some car pushes soon, will see if corinne is up for these on friday 🙂

matt, atm now whilst i have the energy, hiit is my focus, solely for the adaptations that will follow, now there maybe a phase at end of prep where i need to just expend more calories, in this instance its a toss up of drop food or do liss, now i know MY body shrinks when i do liss- i have said it year after year and always believed it, it wasnt until this year when studies starting cropping up confirming this that i was like i bloody knew i shrunk on liss, so for me i would rather drop cals, some people drop no tissue at all, so then its not an issue.

hit this morn and rest day diet,
hit was great, 6x15s sprints at level 6 resistance on the bike, 2 mins between sprints at level 2 … my goal next sessions is reduce rest time to 110 seconds beteen sprints. every time i do this i will make it harder, reduce rest time, increase resistance- today fitness was much better- i was battered by end, but recovery between sprints was more efficient, its that adaptation im striving for, the quicker my HR can get back down to normal, the greater my anearobic and lactate threshold are, this is a reflection of high mitochondria, i really have taken a u turn on my thoughts on hit.

matt, in this set up where its chest and back day 1, legs day 2 , shoulders and arms day 3 – i leave out pressing, as it takes away from benching on the day 1 again, plus its too much strain on the shoulder to repeat that motor pattern too often, shoulders take a beating. offseason – shoulder press is my staple for delts

new log book today, i have filled so many of these now over the last 5-6 years since i started logging lifts 🙂 , i would say without any doubt in my mind its how i have progressed and how corinne has progressed to where we are…. stimulus- response, constantly provide new stimulus, growth will happen
so delts this morn, arms this eve, we did arms tonight with lee spencer who is on his day one of the best bodybuilders in the uk, was the first uk boy to be contracted by gaspari, he will be training with us once a week now, i dont want to say im prepping him, as Lee really knows what he is doing, but he has asked me to be in his corner, which i was really pleased to say yes to, so between us, im hoping he will beat his previous best showings
