    MANJ – Hey buddy I try and where the sleeves on heavy sets only but some times I will keep on to keep my knees warm.

    Things that help –

    Tiger balm before session
    Sports massage once per week
    Hot bath post legs
    Stretching

    Going on the bike for 5 minutes before legs can help also and try making ham curls first exercise as these warm the knees without putting strain on the tendons.

    So rest day today just tried to relax and get ready for tomorrow let assault with Kuba where I think the planned compound is the pendulum ????

    I’ve only had a go on this once and felt very awkward, wish me luck ????

    I’ll let you know how it goes, just factored in 20mins cardio which Jordan implemented this week with a walk to the pub for a Pepsi max with the dog! Pro life is crazy hahaha

    Was just watching random YouTube eating videos and yours popped up on the recommended.

    13,000 calorie day of eating you fucking tank! Reckon you can manage 20k?

    Haha post comp yes, now NO FUCKING WAY LOL

    I could prob manage 10k now but off season appetite is always lower as I’ve not been restricted and don’t crave ????????

    Back in the gym today, amped from the pro show Sunday still!!

    Push saw progression on lifts yesterday across all exercises and so did pull. There will be new muscle gained this year ready for the stage next year 1000%%%%%% 🙂

    Push went like this:

    INCLINE SMITH

    FLAT DB

    SHOULDER PRESS MACHINE FACING IN

    CLOSE GRIP SMITH FLOOR PRESS

    PEC DEC

    SEATED DB LATERALS – 1 SET DOUBLE REST PAUSE

    CABLE SKULL CRUSHES

    ALL SETS 5-9 ONE SET WITH 12-15 BACK OFF UNLESS STATED

    Have you had a blood test to see what liver values actually are?

    You should be taking precautions throughout cycle and all year round. Supplement needs do a great liver stack which is essential and get the JP heart stack at bare minimum please!! Fish oil’s would be a great addition if you have none of them but if your coach knows what he’s doing you’ll be advised on supplements already?

    Shit loads of water which you should be doing already anyway minimum 6 litres per day.

    Clean food as I imagine you are.

    If you’re concerned get a blood test.

    It definitely make sense to have it the night before a weak body part day but you could argue that a surge of calories would assist recovery all be it the quality of the nutrients from cheat meal may not be great.

    I would save cheat meals as in dirty chests for times you really need a mental break.

    Other than that have high carb meals/refeeds from good sources that you know will benefit performance and recovery.

    So yesterday was amazing to see such strength in depth on the British scene not only on the JP stand with all the team at the event but the pro show finished with an all British top 3, something I don’t no when last happened if ever ????????‍♂️

    Nathan was rock hard and dry as a bone, it was red hot in there and didn’t see him sweat a drop! That and his ability to pose all day without breaking his smile won it.

    Samson looked crazy with extra roundness than previous years. Another year and extra dryness he’s going to be competitive on the Olympia stage, just a wonderfully put together physique!

    And our boy the boss man James taking 3rd so well deserved! Let’s nick name him the nicest man in body building ????

    Was a great thing to witness and loved it when they called Zack into the pose down with the top 3. Zack is a legend and will be back even better I know!

    Today for me is push which I doing after 4 meals today due to change in schedule but super super amped for this week after yesterday.

    Let’s push some big numbers ????????

    Wow just returned from the 2 bros British Grand Prix and wow what an event, British Bodybuilding is fucking strong right now!
    Gonna give my full recap in the am as I am wiped from a full day at it and a 5 hour round trip in the car.

    Bike and stair master are the kings of cv for me. I love HIIT on the bike and its really low impact on my knees. Stepper is killer but does the job every time, you just can’t take it easy on that thing god dam.

    WOW LEG DAY WENT OFF 🙂

    Tweaked a few things in my shcedule to make it as manageable as possible but at the end of the day you gotta man the fuck up and get shit done right!

    So normally I train at 1 or 2pm ish, today I brought that forward to 11.30am as thought it would be slightly cooler and more bearable.

    Also the hack squat was the main compound in this session with leg press going 4th, I pulled the leg press as we went to town on the hack, my work set I progressed weight by 20kg but progressed reps to 15 from 9 so it went from being a heavy work to a back off set in terms of rep range.

    So we hit 30 reps in 2 sets of hack plus warms up sets. Just being smart in terms of volume and recovery and asking yourself what your going to gain from certain exercises in a given situation allows you to really progress.

    I put the SBD knee sleeves back on today because my left knee has bad tendinitis and since using the single ply strength shop ones its got wirse and feels really bad in lifts. The SBD ones are very good, I feel very little pain and although there definitely thicker, on a risk reward basis there more than worth it!

    Session went like this:

    Seated leg curl
    2 sets 12-15 one with rest pause

    Hack
    2 sets 5
    1 should have been 5-9

    Leg extension
    1 set 12-15
    1 set 12-15 plus triple drop

    DB split squat
    2 sets 12-15 each leg

    Bench laying DB ham curl
    2 sets 12-15 final set with 3 forced negatives from partner

    ADDUCTER
    1 set rest pause aiming for 10/10/10

    Session done and later followed with a dip in the lazy spa and a nerf gun fight with the kids haha

    Totally ruined me!!
