    83 DAYS OUT

    pull day

very good session, but im not feeling very powerful, deads felt soooo heavy

    165.8kg x 15

    172.4kg x 11

happy with the numbers but not happy with the feel, will swap this movement soon to avoid injury – i will aim for that 180 x 20 at another time when i am not in a deficit and can spend time getting used to high rep work

i actually thought the work overview was quite long lol

    84 DAYS OUT – 12 WEEKS!

push session – really good, progressed everything.

so i thought i would update more thoroughly about what i actually do day to day – i often just say ‘work’ but it occurred to me that you probs dont know what that entails! A little bit of a different topic today, but hopefully it will be of interest.

We have just signed for the unit which will be the new home for distributing the clothing and supps. Clothing first, so we can ensure we are handling the orders efficiently before taking on both.

With this, a lot has to be arranged!

Every item we sell has to be logged into the system. Each has a specific code assigned to it, and the data includes the items weight, dimension, cost price, insurance price etc. It has to have a government code, so when shipped, customs knows what it actually is! The coding system is brutally complex as its so specific, and cant be wrong!

All this info, I have to work out myself, and manually input in the system. It takes a very long time. For example if we have 1 jumper in 11 sizes, that’s 11 different codes and item profiles. We have around 20 new items in this next drop, all in numerous sizes.

When you click onto the website….the info you see for each item I have created. Writing the description, uploading the photos etc. On here as well I have to input the codes so the purchase correlates with the order system and goes through to the distribution unit to be sent.

We have to have couriers set up to collect and delivery the items so they get to you! I have been sorting this out too. Emailing the options (DPD, UPS etc etc) and finding out the rates and info. We then have to set up the printers to ensure correct labels are printed for accurate delivery. I have to calulate the shipping costs for each destination and input these manually into our order system in relation to weight.

For international items, we have to send the packages with the correct customs documentations. For nutrition this gets even more complicated, and we also need to include full ingredient profiles from the manufacturers and such forth.

If an item is purchased by something is entered incorrectly by the customer, the order doesn’t go through, it goes on hold. Everyday I alter these errors and pass the orders through to they can be sent.

Things sometimes do wrong! Ie people buy an incorrect size and want to make a return, or a tub gets damaged in the post. We now have someone else doing the bulk of the customer services, (initially I do all of this too) I now oversee all of this, and am still on there daily doing a few emails and sorting greater issues that Katie cant do.

If something goes wrong, ie an inventory error, I personally email to any customers to explain and resolve.

I have to calculate and invoice the shipping costs for our trade orders and ensure everyone has paid, and everyone gets their stock.

I have to log cost prices and order info for courier claims if royal mail for example, loses a package, this means we get the cost price (minus fees) given back to us.

I do an inventory check at least once a week so we know what and when to reorder so we don’t run out. (when we have everything at the unit, I will be doing this physically as well and not just trusting the numbers reported on the fulfilment centre system)

I have been sourcing sustainable packaging for the clothing and nutrition – cant send stuff without packaging!

We are constantly working with our designer on new items for the next launch, and working on new supp ideas.

I manage the accounts for all the businesses and ensure all the paper work is complete to be sent to our accountants. This includes logging every single purchase, saving the invoice, recording the info. I make sure all invoices are paid on time to various supplies/businesses.

I email renewal reminds to Jordans clients the day before they are due.

Each month our athletes get supplements. I email round and raise these orders manually on the system. I make sure they are all paid (if applicable) on time, and will sort any issues they may have (luckily they are all chilled bunch so don’t have many problems!).

I write the contracts for any athletes and make sure these are up to date.

CoJos – Jordan really has done the bulk of this, as he is more experienced and well connected with kit. But I have been arranging the cosmetics and & necessary bits, ie, internet connect, insurance, paying bills, finding the neon sign, banners etc etc –

I have also put my house on the market to rent, so have been back and forth getting the interior redecorated, oven installed, house cleaned – liaising with the estate agent. Luckily they will manage this once its let.

I currently coach A LOT of people – as you all know, this is the area that I am not stepping away from, as I need the time to be used on all the above. Increasingly so.

Im also trying to get to the Olympia! So obviously training til im broken every single session.

I cook every meal for myself and Jordan (and the pups!), and do the usual things we all do – housework, bill paying etc. And I make sure I see my close family at least once a week.

Im not saying all this because I want any recognition. But it just dawned on me that I never share this side of life – the reality.

i think its important to remember that coaches will only show case the clients that get good results. Same for any coach….we have clients that work real hard and change dramatically, and we have others who dont work very hard and therefore dont change

the common theme with all the athletes from any coach that add a lot of muscle is their ability to work hard, train hard, and eat consistently

there are never any tricks – there is just time and persistence.

in my opinion, if youre training at 11am, there wouldnt really be time to eat twice (if meal 1 is at 8/9am)

we can only process so much food in a window of time

may i ask what youre currently doing with foods and times?

glycemic load is my relevant than index i think – so as mentioned from others you can eat what you like as long as it sits well and is combined appropriately

when i use the trap bar for a stiff leg movement rather than a deadlift, i like to reset each reps to ensure my hips are high. I find touch and go with this bar can be a bit rocky.

    88 DAYS OUT

    pull day

    progressing

    165kg x 15

    170kg deficit x 10

guna creep that to 166kg/167.5kg next time and try for 16 – i want to get better at the higher rep sets so working over 15 will be a good test

    then aim for 171/172.5kg x 11/12

and what is meal 1 ?

if this was me, i would not use any intra workout – just water.

and then eat 90mins after the session when hungrier for it.

the later meals can then be adjusted to fit into your day

what time do you wake, train and then go to bed? i can offer a suggestion πŸ™‚

always ask if youre not sure – no harm in doing so!

how long is your session? how much water do you drink in total per day?

for example, i drink about 2.5litres during BUT i drink about 8 liters/day in total and the sessions are about 2.5 hours….so 1.5litres might be in line with your needs

    which whey are you using?

do you eat dark choc, banana or COR at any other time of the day? if yes, do they cause any issue at other times?

is pre workout the first and only meal of the day? or do you train after many meals?

if you were to wait 90mins after training do you feel you may be hungry?
