happy sunday 10th october!
really lovely day today
push yesterday was v good and pull today was good too – just creeping lifts and hanging on as best i can ….if i wana keep everything naturally i need to work even harder so i will find a way π
so tempted to do Romania….its mid november….but thats only the desire to end the year enjoying a show…i crave that feeling of satisfaction and enjoyment …i think thats a human NEED really…anyway! I Always seem to find a tangent haha
so….does anyone have any opinions/views/thoughts about the olympia?
for me….i favoured Brandon to win with Hadi second, Ramy third – just personal preference i guess .

leg day went well
so so proud of myself
180kg x 2
140kg x 12
as well as a ton of other work – best session ever…my body is now in a world of ‘whathaveyoudonetome’
food has gone up now too
25c on all training days, so leg day is 525c total and push&pull is 445c total
so only a smidge – but in line with my goals…i need to be able to progress in the gym

In those instances of not getting enough sleep, do you increase caffeine and recover on sleep the next night?thank you
the only caffeine i have is Prepare pre workout
i dont consume caffeine at all aside from that, i have decaf coffee …the odd normal one if they make a mistake in the shop lol
usually get up at 5am….so yesterday set the alarm for 6.30am
then today 5.50am….and then ill just get back on track with sleep and my routine π

i think its important to know what you are currently doing and then we can work from there
in terms of the process leading up to bedtime, not supplementation.
is this close to trainining? do you watch tv before bed? etc etc
when you wake up, is it often at the same time? ie 3am every night
do you feel hungry? do you need the loo? etc etc

social weekend for me….had another family wedding yesterday
as it was in essex i went down after legs on saturday, saw a friend saturday evening, another friend sunday morning…then the wedding in the afternoon
so so so nice – im super lucky…i couldnt live without my friends and family
lateeeeee night last night tho, not enough sleep….so im bloody shattered today!
push day – which is flat in motivation tbh due to the above – but whatever, was decent…push is my nemesis anyway! ill catch up on sleep over the coming nights
totally worth it though π

a good session – i dont do any pulls in pull….my lower back would just crumble like a dunked rich tea! so best avoid that drama
still chilly….jordan still has the fan on…shall i just remove the blades? haha

it was an OK session – nothing wild… bit of mixed bag tbh…some victories some plateaus…kinda gotta work out why
over trained? a bit yeh
tired because of the above – yes i feel that
too lean – potentially
so i do need to drop volume and see if that fixes some things then go from there
i think i know i need to give this old body a bit more fuel – we will see
other than that…im CHILLY and jordan has the sodding fan on!?

yeh, 4 plates will happen at some point… i let jordan call my numbers on this tbh as he tell quite easily if warm ups are giving the green light for a big squat!
for me…i cant really call it…sounds silly, BUT squats always feel laboured and heavy when i get over 3 plates haha so i need an external eye
i am just very good at following instruction π

Hi Corinne, great to see you back updating your log! I am so impressed with your squats, I havenβt squatted consistently in months and am struggling with very light weight but your videos give me the push I need to continue! If you had to offer any tips or advice for squatting, what would you say?

erm…i guess patience…its not a movement you can hurry up with
there are lots of links in the chain, and all need to be alined to progress….ie for me, the weakness is my lower back…legs could squat a lot of weight BUT i cant stabilise that through my posterior chain, so i will break form…this is risky…and will stop me completing the squat.
so work on full body strength as well – dont go into a session with a tired posterior chain….do lots of reps over time so youre movement pattern is autonomous

So glad to see youβre making a reappearance on the log ? Reading your log is definitely one of the things that I enjoy most personally on the site.
What are you goals for the foreseeable future in the gym? Do you have a tangible goal, or are you more focused on an intangible goal such as enjoying your sessions and getting the most out of them?
I understand youβre insanely busy, but if you could give a diet update, I would love to read through it ?

goals…as in strength targets?
squats – i want to get back over 4 plates for a solid 3/4 reps
paused squats – 170kg for 3/4 would be nice
i want to match some all time lifts on high incline smith press, hack squats…so nothing set in stone really
with no assistance and staying much leaner i have to be realistic and patient – i wont bully my strength too fast – i will mix up ranges and stay injury free….over a veryyyyyyy long period keep creeping and getting stronger π
all my goals in the gym at objective….i cant imagine going in and just enjoying it haha

i do want to compete ….i dont feel ‘done’ with it…i truly LOVE being on stage
i am however, ‘done’ with the uncertainty&pressure (from myself) of competing….by that I mean the constant worry of whether ill bring the right look, do i fit the class? will it be rewarded? will i get to the olympia?
ive created a situation in mind where i am only competing to get to the olympia….but actually thats not essential and thats not the mindset i should be having. Its thats stress that is causing issue.
SO i have literally just removed all importance on that final bit….the getting to the olympia thing….this frees my mind and heart and allows me to just compete because its fun and i want to….i dont have to over think if the look is right or if i will place…i dont have to compete in a class that i dont feel as comfortable in because i have been told that my chances of winning are higher.
im not pretending that i dont want to get there…of course i do! its seen as the ultimate recognition of achievement – its selective…and i would like to be in that dreampool!
BUT i am just accpeting of the fact that the physique i have and enjoy having is seemingly a bit of an unclassified one (which i actually rather like the thought haha)…not quite WPD not quite WBB…therefore i wont every win or place enough to reach the top because rightly so, im not actually the best of the best in either class!
can i keep presenting something cool and a bit freaky? yeh, i back myself to do that…so the pinnacle for me cant be the Olympia sadly….it will be the day i reach my peak…that will also my the day i retire π

the challenge now is strength – getting stronger, staying lean.
i am not sure at all when / if i will compete again – when i do i want to enjoy it again! and it will be in WPD – thats were i feel happiest.
i dont want to use assistance again…so thats a real challenge in terms of holding muscle and increasing strength – but i think i can do it and bring a really clean, tidy look
plan is to go through phases just as usual, using food as my anabolic tool then tidying up as needed.
6 weeks post show now and i dont need to tidy up at all…tbh i could step on stage in about 2 weeks lol but performance is great so im waiting for that to show me signs that i need to push up weight…and then i will
so i dont know what im doing really haha just working hard and seeing what happens and where things lead me π

too much to back track on…so I think the easiest thing to do is ask if anyone has any questions to me about anything at all…the last prep, the current situation etc etc
