clare has covered this but ill add a little – look out for the signs of over training that have been mentioned.

at what point you need to deload varies from person to person as recovery is very individual – it also depends on your training intensity, style and strength

some benefit from a deload as often as 5 weeks..some can last up to about 12 weeks….I think 12 would be a max if youre training really hard and progressing well.

I also prefer 5-7 days total rest, out of the gym

if you feel better going to the gym – then maybe train upper….2 days rest…train lower…2 days rest…then back to your training plan.
    in those session baseline volume.

exhausting a movement or rep range is very different to becoming over trained….work out the reasons why you have maxed out and make sensible changes to the training plan. don’t be too hasty to change though, it may have just been 1 session where a movement stalls but next time you might progress it.

    ok so
Jordan tells me today that we will not being doing the july PL meet..gutted to say the least

we will target sept time….that gives me 6 ish months to get it all back

    anyway

    C – 150
    Kcals – 1772

    Training day – Push&pull
    P – 260
    F – 16
    C – 241
    Kcals – 2148

    Training day – legs

could take a flask of boiling water and then add that to baby rice 🙂
sandwiches/wraps are a good option ….cold pasta/couscous is a normal cold meal as well

like everyone else on this thread…i like everything cold haha

    to reiterate

    disagree with JUST performance…

in my view….weight is needed if you are pushing for size – agree 100% here with @hilly
has anyone ever gain a lot of muscle without body weight?

    also depends on body composition
if you are still very lean….then I would also increase kcals too to see an increase on the scales

ok so legs yesterday left me feeling pretty upset
    I wont pretend it didn’t

8 weeks out now and I think I need to stop trying to be a powerlifter until its time to commit to it

so squat was on the cards and I should have been on for 180kg x 7/8 reps
back still felt a little vulnerable in all honesty….anyway, I got 4…but it didn’t feel right at all, defo a little bit of irritation/pain there again so I was squatting in a diff kinda position to protect it…not really knowingly so, my body was just shifting automatically to protect

    4 reps is/was very subpar

failing what I set out to do as I have said is not what I want…I find it hard to cope with…I went in there and underperformed and didn’t impress Jordan …I disappointed him and myself

its a case of being logical and sensible now..i KNOW and have learnt in the past that I CANNOT do both at once….PL and WPD…its silly to try….I think I was just so excited for the PL and the strength I had I didn’t want to let that go/put it on hold…but I have to as my job right now it to be on stage

so we will remove squats for safety as lower back is not a bit shitty now..great! move to hack/pendulum/leg press etc etc

im just so scared and bummed out…Im worried I will regress and im worried I will fail it all

I REALLY DO NOT NEED any inspiring comments to this, I am NOT seeking comfort or sympathy…my brain doesn’t work that way….im telling you all this to be honest as that’s the point of the site…
