I would always advise rest day calories to be less, there is no need for them, unless ur basal metabolic rate is insane

the longer you train the higher the cortisol level in your body reaches…this can be detrimental as it will affect fat loss and muscle gain…a typical session I would do would be maximum 90minutes, its finding a balance between a fast work rate which allows you to optimally focus on all sets and reps but also giving yourself the correct intra workout and pwo nutrition to recover from the sessions…there is no point spending hours in the gym if you are not getting a strength or hypertrophy response from the exercises and also if you cant recover from the training volume

its more fat gain then weight gain that you need to be concerned with….you want to increase in weight as you should be buiding lean muscle tissue during this period…so waist measurements are a great subjective number to track instead of weight
if you are gaining strength and muscle don’t up food…if you start to stall with this then increase calories slightly to ensure you are making progress

depends on your macros but…red meats, oily fish, oils, nut butters, avocados, black olives, eggs are all good fat choices

hey Daniel…a rough guideline we use is 1.3g per lb of body weight…so if you weight 150lb that comes to 195g protein so about 30g per meal based on 6 meals a day…obviously this would be higher for an assisted athlete as exogenous use can increase the rate of an individuals protein synthesis….typically we don’t reduce protein intake when trying to reduce body fat…other macros will be altered and reduced primarily…there are studies to suggest that high protein can actually help to reduce body fat…this is some way due to it being the hardest macros for your body to break down so requires more calories during this process.
protein is often a little higher on training day as aminos can be used across the workout

in this situation I would be inclined to just have the carbs immediately pwo…so sip on bcaas throughout then, have rice cakes and jam pwo then have your normal pwo solid meal 60-90mins after

I don’t think it will impact performance as your body, once in ketosis wont be ‘looking’ for carbs to use as fuel…it will run very efficiently off of fats

its very person dependent though..i know if I ran even 1 day with zero carbs I would be flat as a pancake and total bottomed out come the next training session! others would be different…running carb free rest days is also another good option that allows for a ‘fat loss’ day when insulin isn’t spiked
