what exactly is the question?
if the diet now and the food choices are sitting well, then dont alter anything too much at all and increase kcals in line with the phase
i also think that protein intake is low considering the goal. personally i would increase this macro
usually when digestion is not happy, it boils down to processed foods – jam/ dark chocolate – whey can also be an irritant if used too frequently

amazing you have such control on all the variables
the training will be a big change and will alter your energy balance
once you know where you are with that, can then either increase steps or reduce kcals to creat a bigger deficit π

by impact, i assume you mean, would you still drop body fat and get leaner?
in which case, energy balance mostly underpins this process, so yes, if someone reduces their calories, and puts their body into a deficit, then they will lose body fat. (assuming they are healthy/nothing underlying etc)
so eating 2 tinkies, and then only eating 1 tinkie…is a reduction in calories = fat loss.
with fat loss, we typically see improved health markers, especially if the individual is quite overweight to start with. So the improvement of biomarkers in the tinkie study very likely came from the fat loss and reduced body weight NOT from the fact it was done with tinkies.
personally, i believe the quality and type of protein/fats/carbs youre putting into the body does matter from a recovery, performance, composition and health perspective. If we give our body what it needs we can train harder, recover faster, feel more energetic – all leading to a greater ability to improve condition.
So going back to your question

Not exactly. Both may yield fat loss, but the more nutrient dense choice will impact more positively and sustainably in the long term.
im sure if they conducted the twinkie study comparing the change with a whole food diet approach, the findings would show further improvements to health and body composition.
i hope that makes sense….thats just my view on this π

i would personally get myself into a good routine with training, diet and steps
i would do an upper lower split at 2 on 1 off
do you know your current food intake? if not i would start to track this and standardise it, ie eating the same amount of macros/kcals per day
if you do know this already, thats great, i would continue with the diet in sync with the training and assess how this change impacts you – ie, does it hold you at maintainence, or does it create a deficit?
once youre into a good routine and have control of those variables, i would go into a slight deficit, and aim to tidy up condition a little bit.
in terms of day to day activity, do you track your steps? if so, perfect, maintain your norm, if you dont, then i would start to, so its again another tool that you can use to manipulate your energy balance

rest….but its been an in out in out shake it all about kinda day!
get up at 5am

cook meal 1
watch jordan pose

quick shower, get dressed
take vitamins
eat meal 1 – work
walk – with or without the dogs depending on there level of ‘giveashit’
come back, feed pups
its sunday….so usually i then go to the shop BUT its not open til 10 …so
cook meal 2, eat meal 2 – work
give jordan his meal 2
popped out to meet my dad, we had to fix something and i collected some bit that i had been storing from moving
come back
cook meal 3, prepare jordans meal 3, eat meal 3 – work
give jordan his meal 3
got to tesco…other foods shops are available…get slightly irritated at the lack of pace in other people… !
come home – prep meal 4 and 5 and jordans meal 4
walk the pups
eat meal 4 – work
give jordan his meal 4
house chores – strip and make the bed, unload a wash, put a wash on, quick clean of loos, and change the bins
feed pups
brush teeth and wash face
eat meal 5 – work – update blog (this is me now obvs!)
yet to come in this exciting episode….
cook my own and jordans last meal
give jordan is last meal
walk pups – just a quick one for toilets & so i can look at the night sky
put pups to bed
lock up the house
dish up my last meal
take vitamins
wiggle to bed
eat in and have some down time looking up stuff on my phone….mainly present ideas, house stuff, gardening tips…nothing important
go to sleep
and you all thought i was boring!? π

so i do it at the start to get the most from it – this then doesnt knock onto the rest of the session as its not an isolation of any one muscle
