Good rest day yesterday – weight is now really levelling out around 166 lbs, which is about 3 lbs up from stage weight, I’ll put up some pics from next check in soon. I already feel more alive but to be honest, I was never feeling THAT bad anyway, in hindsight, I could have handled pushing harder, but it wouldn’t of brought about a better physique this time round. In 2022, I plan to have enough muscle density to really take it ALL off.

    Todays plan for push

    Lateral x2
    High Incline DB Press x2
    Flat Press x2
    Pec Deck x2
    Cuffed Lateral x2
    Narrow Bench x3
    Overhead Extension x3
Pushdown super set with cable curl x2

Notice the arm volume is really coming up now… this is a huge focus area for me, so I’m trialling this setup especially whilst i’m not with Kub, to see how it goes

So the slightly frustrating news hit us yesterday, positive stuff to come off this will be mental fortitude for all of us. Legs today, still feeling a little beaten up from recovering post prep, pretty tired, and getting sore off very low volume, so will be another rock bottom volume session today X1 adductor X1 extension X1 curl X1 hackX1 leg pressX1 lying leg curlX1 calf X2 abs

Are you training in your garage?

    For the quarantine period yes

It sounds perfectly fine Kevin provided you can recover and progress.

A split can always ‘look fine’ on paper, but when in application, that’s when you truly find out.

Frequency is fine provided you train accurately and intensely.

I personally don’t use these as they can just get more and more ‘addictive’ as the diet goes on… I find once I have a bit of something like this, I want to add more, so I stay clear personally

Agreed with Clare here, especially regarding making the decision to deload.

Since I added rest surrounding the hard sessions my progress really took off.

    heu guys,

I noticed JP mention in a recent video he likes to put his hinge on pull day not legs because of too much workload in a leg session.

however I’m running an upper / Lower split. where would one put a hip hinge in ? (specifically SLDL as they are actually fixing my low back injury)

    thanks in advance

Definitely a lower day for your hinges.

one lower day – knee dominant ( squat )
one lower day – hip dominant (hinge)

Rest day for me today, one more week and then out of quarantine 🙂

So more of the same really, this week has been very good in general – weight up a pound from stage weight, literally for me, prep to off season, it’s just more of the same… I’ll have clients say “I hope you’re enjoying lots of nice food” and in reality, that is not what it’s about for me… I love this whole process done CORRECTLY and to the tee.. of course I enjoyed a few bits in Italy, but nothing silly, and I was right back on it when I returned home, not because i feel forced to, but because it’s what I love to do… the routine & consistency of the sport is what I am very much attracted to.

Anyway, check ins and rest today, hope everyone is well!

AJ, for those like myself who aren’t as clued up on natural bodybuilding… do you mind explaining how pro cards work in natural competitions? i.e are there multiple fed pro cards to earn? multiple pro competitions which you need specific cards for? Is there a pro card that is a natural version of the ifbb pro card? Thanks man.

Hey Jack – so yes, multiple pro cards can be attained, there is not ‘one best pro card’ unfortunately.

At the world championship level, the WNBF, PNBA & IPE are really the most hotly contested federations in terms of overall depth of quality.

    Congrats AJ
What’s the plans in regarding bringing the midsection up? Treat it much like any other muscle group and give it a little more frequency ?

    Hey Neil,

I’ll increase frequency from twice every 10 days to 3x every 10 days and just make sure I’m getting very strong at a specific time exercise (usually rope crunch)
