Still feeling broken today but we got it done. Joints are starting to feel sore so it’s time to add in a serving of Join In as of tomorrow morning.
Generally felt flat today so it took some work to get me going and ready to lift my numbers in the press session. Finger is still swollen so no axle cleans, everything was done out of the rack.
Axle Push Press – 150x3x1 160×1
Viking press – 190×9
Incline DB Press – 3×12 -
Proper fucked today.
Didn’t sleep great, body sore and tired. Fortunately Sunday is a rest day for me. Got my two walks done in the day and this evening. Finger is swollen as expected so we’ll see how it looks and feels once that swelling has gone down. There’s a chance I might have to modify tomorrows session if my grip on the axle clean is compromised but hopefully i’ll be fine.
Getting an early night so I can catch up on sleep and be ready for another training week.

Managed to get to the farm early today to fix the rings to the stones. Had to just take an educated guess at where the balance point would be but I’m happy to say we got it pretty much bang on. Very happy with how they turned out and is some pure strongman training when it involves big rocks as the weights.
Frame carry – 320x20m 360x20m 400x20m
Stone carry – 124/139x2x20m
Sandbag loading – 100/125/150 each for a setManaged to pop something in my middle finger on the bags today so cut things a little short. Hopefully it’s nothing too serious and settles down quickly. Bit swollen but I still have function in it which is promising.

Deadlift session at physique warehouse today. Back on some proper weights on the deads and it felt great. Everything felt super smooth and easy which is great.
Deadlift (ladder style) – 350×5
Block pulls – 350x2x5
Leg Extensions – 3×20Big session planned tomorrow with some heavy frame, sandbag loading and hopefully some proper stone carries if I can get the handles fixed into the stones before the session.

Yeah that’s a lot of caffeine.
Unless your a big human I don’t see the benefit in dosing it that high.

Another rest day today. Morning and evening walks totalling just under 4 miles.
Also got the rings sorted ready to go on my stones. Now just to find a drill bit up to the task of drilling into these rocks!
Very much looking forward to deadlifts tomorrow especially as I’ll be trying out the second prototype of the belt I’ve been working on for ages. It looks and feels awesome so far.

Set it up, give it a go and see what you think of it.
If it feels beneficial to you then great, if not then you know it’s not worth time time setting it up.

Much needed rest day today as I was feeling a bit beat up.
Caught up on my sleep, got my two walks in and cooked up some meals for the next couple of days.
Strength is feeling like it’s moving in the right direction which I’m very excited about. Getting my recovery in today and tomorrow then it’s time to pull from the floor again on Friday

Busy training day today. Had physio in the morning then straight off to the farm for events training followed by massage. Felt good hitting some heavy lifts again and I know my strength is in a good place when repping 180 and 210 stones feels easy.
Yoke – 400×20
Stone carry – 2x20m
Arm over arm – 3x15m
Atlas stones 210×3 180×10 -
Monday press session
Axle clean and press 143×3
Axle push press from rack 163×1
Viking press 180×10
Incline DB Press 3×12Great pressing session with plenty of work done. Back on the axle and the clean felt spot on. Press was snappy so I’m super excited about pushing this on over the next few weeks.
Viking press felt great compared to previous weeks, I changed my foot position and that seemed to make a big difference.

What’s your diet looking like meal by meal when cutting to meet weight
Hahaha the last time cut weight for a competition was 2011. I’m in the open category

Saturday events session.
Back to full weight training today. Frame carry, stone carry and sandbags. I was due to also do some atlas stones but I dropped it to put some more volume into the sandbag as it’s a super important event for me.
Frame carry – 240x20m 280x20m 320x20m 360x20m
Stone carry – 2x20m
Sandbag – steeplechase 100×2 and 125×2 then multiple single pick up and carries with the 150 bag.I was having some issues on the pick up on the 125 bag sets hence the additional work on the 150 at the end. Moved over to using gloves which gives me a much better grip on the bags. Moving forward I’ll be doing more work on the bags on the Saturday session and keeping all my atlas stone work to Tuesdays

Hack squats: 250×10Got my evening walk done and now it’s time to get to sleep.

Second rest day today. Woke up and my body felt a lot better. I’m proper getting impatient to lift something heavy but I’ve got to complete this deload week as it’s needed for the long term success of this programme.
Dropped the stones off at the farm today. Had to brake pretty hard on the way there and I thought 400 kg of stones might end up in the cab next to me. That one would be tough to explain to the insurance people.
Just got in from my evening walk, had my last meal and I’m off to bed.
