What’s the reason for doing the fat loss rapidly?

    Events at the farm.

Training on my own today which makes things difficult with setting up event especially when the kit is heavy. Got it down though and it turned into a great session. Got some really good quality work done on the sandbag medley and did some lighter frame work to test out my grip.

    Yoke runs 280x4x20m
    Frame runs 240x4x20m
    Sandbag medley 100/100/125 – 4 runs

Rest day tomorrow then onto another training week Monday

Deadlift session at physique warehouse today. Felt great – plan was to pull 1-3 reps at 390 and finished up with 3 comfortable reps. Everything feeling great. Volume is very low right now as I prepare for a big events session tomorrow.

    Deadlift – 390×3
    13” Block Pulls – 390x2x1

Rest day with some physio and soft tissue work.

Had my sports massage in the morning then physio in the afternoon. Body is feeling primed ready for some heavy pulls tomorrow.

Also had some sponsor calls this morning with one regarding the new belt design I’ve been working on and testing for the past few months. We are moving closer to getting it on the market. Final testing with the v2 prototype now to check it all works well and lives up to expectations. Exciting times.

Events session at the farm today. Made the yoke a little lighter as I’ll be repeating it as part of a medley on Saturday. Stone walk actually felt ok on my previously injured finger which was unexpected. Got a really solid 4 reps on the 210 stone which is near peak numbers on this – I’ll get 5 reps done next week.

    Yoke – 280x20m
    Stone walk – 2 sets
    Atlas stones – 210×4

Tomorrow is a rest day and I’ve got my rescheduled physio and massage appointments to get me reset for a super heavy pull day on Friday

Trip down to wales today for a sponsor filming day. Managed to get all the bits to camera done as well as some voice over work before meeting up with my mate Gav who’s gym was 5mins away. We did our press session together and it looked like this:

Axle clean and press – 165×1
Viking press – plenty of build up sets to a top weight. Tough to know exact loads as on different kit.
    Dips – 3 sets

Another long day or driving but needs must. Back over the farm tomorrow for events.

Extra rest day for me today as I’m on the road tomorrow so have the opportunity to train with a mate who lives locally to my sponsor appearance.

Body is feeling good and refreshed after a couple of days off lifting. Social battery is still rebooting after seeing more people in one day than I usually do in a whole year haha.

Just got in from a walk, time to eat my last meal and get to bed

Day one at the Arnold wrapped up.

I managed to get my deadlift session done albeit just the essentials with deadlift and block pulls. Felt crazy strong today for some reason. I think I could have pulled the 370 for 10 reps today.

    Deadlift 370×5
    13” block pulls 370x2x3

Great to meet and chat to so many people today. Proper took it out of me though. Day one done, onto day two.

Long day today. Loaded the truck up with plates this morning then drove up to the NEC to drop them off at the Silverback stand where I’ll be this weekend at the Arnold UK.

I’ll be deadlifting on the stand tomorrow (Friday) then the bar will be loaded to 505 for people to have photos with.

It’s going to be a long weekend!

    Rest day.

Tried to keep the morning pretty chilled then spent the whole afternoon prepping food and kit for the Arnold UK. Cooking up 4 days worth of food in advance is a lot of food. There is no such thing as travelling light in strongman.

Finished up the evening with another walk and now I’m onto my last meal before bed.

Yep agree with the above. I’ve never been a fan of super strict tempo lifting unless going for an eccentric loading goal.

Keep it simple, lift with control and up the load.

Saw my physio this morning and got his opinion on my finger. Done some damage to the tendon which needs to settle down. Tried to grip the rings on the stones but it was having none of it so had to modify my session today. Dropped out the stone walks and arm over arm so it was just yoke and stones today.

    Yoke runs – 320x20m 360x20m 400x20m420x20m

Atlas stones – 210×3 then singles at 140/160/180 with a run in.

Finished the day with sports massage and an evening walk with the dogs. Rest day tomorrow and I’m looking forward to it.

With Rich here – great call on the split stance leg press. I love that movement and I find it easy to bias the working leg.
